Manny Pacquiao: Gambling Guide for December 8 Bout vs. Juan Manuel Marquez Nov 26th 2012, 15:59 Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez will be meeting up for the fourth time on December 8, when the two step into the ring at the MGM in Las Vegas. As with any boxing super fight—especially one taking place in Vegas—there is going to be a ton of action being taken by big books, the offshores and other nefarious sources. Should you feel the need to place a wager on the bout, we are here to help. Let’s take a look at the current lines and over/under for the fight (courtesy of Bovada.lv) and give some predictions.   Money Line Juan Manuel Marquez: +230 Manny Pacquiao: -300 Our Choice: Pacquiao   While Marquez was arguably the better fighter in the third matchup of these two rivals, Pacquiao managed to earn the victory. The odds aren’t the greatest, but it would be foolish to not lay down your hard-earned dollars on a fighter that is looking to redeem himself after being jobbed by the judges back in June. Remember, Pac-Man handily beat Timothy Bradley and should have earned the decision, but somehow the three clowns at the ringside table decided to award the win to Desert Storm. We expect the Filipino fighter to come out stronger and more motivated than ever before to absolutely silence any doubt that Marquez is capable of beating him, or that he’s lost a step. This wager isn’t going to pay a ton compared to the risk, but the outcome is almost a sure thing.   Over/Under Over 10 ½ Rounds: -280 Under 10 ½ Rounds: +190 Our Choice: Over   While some might make bold claims that Pacquiao is going to knock Marquez out early, the simple fact is that the 33-year-old hasn’t KO’d anyone since Ricky Hatton back in May of 2009. It’s also been a while since Marquez’s last KO as well, if you think that he’ll somehow win this fight. He pulled one off against Likar Ramos in July of 2011, but he will have a much tougher time doing so against Pac-Man. Consider this statistic if you think Juan Manuel is going to knock out Pacquiao—the Filipino hasn’t been the victim of one since September of 1999. That’s over 13 years ago, and it’s unlikely to happen again soon.
