Floyd Mayweather Claims He's Betting $300K on Johnny Manziel This Weekend

According to Floyd Mayweather Jr., the smart money is betting on Johnny Football on Saturday.

While in New York on Wednesday, Mayweather dropped into the studio with Howard Stern and gave a lengthy interview on sex, his ridiculous plane chartering habits and Johnny Manziel.

Nick Schwartz of For The Win noticed the ridiculous interview, a portion of which Mayweather spent explaining the beaucoup dollars he plans to bet on Manziel and the Aggies beating Arkansas on Saturday.

Here's an audio recording of the interview. Skip to the 29:30 mark for the Manziel discussion.

Warning: Video contains strong language and graphic content.

Mayweather advised Stern and his listeners to consider Johnny Football and Texas A&M a lock to beat Arkansas at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

“Alright, I’ll tell y’all something you can bet on this Saturday,” Mayweather said.

“Alright, go ahead,” Stern replied. “Give me a sure thing.”

“Johnny Football,” Mayweather said. “He’s playing the Arkansas Razorbacks this Saturday.”

Mayweather went on to explain who Manziel was and guarantee that the Aggies would beat the purported three-point spread sportsbooks are putting on the game. (I’ve looked for a sportsbook offering this spread but cannot find one that would give this kind of action.)

Stern asked how he could put so much faith in one player when football is such a team-oriented sport. Mayweather told him that Manziel was the guy who beat Alabama in 2012, a team that went on to become national champions.

Stern wasn’t convinced.

“What if he’s having a bad day?” Stern asked.

“Johnny Football never has an off day,” Mayweather replied.

Stern asked how much he planned to drop on the game. Mayweather thought about it for a moment and replied, “$300,000.”

Woosh...must be nice.

There you have it, the Money Team has vouched for and put its golden seal on Johnny Football, who will be looking to help the Aggies improve to 4-1 this weekend.

Regardless of the spread, the sports betting will likely be fierce and fast on this one, and Mayweather likely isn’t the only bettor expecting the Aggies to pull it out.

Win or lose, Johnny “Point-Spread” always finds a way to cover.
