Manny Pacquiao Will Reportedly Fight on Dec. 1 Instead of Nov. 10

With most boxing fans eagerly awaiting the news of who pound-for-pound great Manny Pacquiao will fight on his rumored Nov. 10 fight date, it now looks as if Pacquiao will ditch the November date for a Dec. 1 fight, according to CraveOnline.com.

Pacquiao's advisor, Michael Koncz, told CraveOnline.com, "We've informed Top Rank that we can not go on Nov. 10." The fight was slated to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev.

The change in date for the bout is said to be because Pacquiao had scheduling conflicts with the original Nov. 10 date.

There are three bouts that were thought to be serious contenders for Pacquiao's (54-4-2, 38 KOs) next bout: A rematch with Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12 KOs), a fourth bout with Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KOs) and a rematch with Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30 KOs), according to CraveOnline.com.

With Dec. 1 being named as Pacquiao's new fight date, one would believe that Cotto could now be the odds-on favorite to be Pacquiao's next opponent.

Cotto is said to already have Madison Square Garden reserved for Dec. 1 (via Boxing Scene). That said, Koncz said all three potential opponents are still in play.

"I met with Bob Arum in New York yesterday and had further discussions," said Koncz. "We talked about Bradley, Cotto and Marquez, but we have not selected an opponent. I will relay those discussions to Manny within the next day or two."

Cotto seemingly would be the biggest draw for Pacquiao in terms of possible money to be made. His last fight—against fellow pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather—raked in 1.5 million pay-per-view buys (via BoxingNews24.com).

A rematch with Pacquiao could garner around the same buys.
