As the world waits for eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao to name his next opponent, one of his possible foes, Timothy Bradley, is already making plans in case "Pacman" chooses him.
Bradley told Boxing Scene that if he beats Pacquiao clearly, then a possible showdown with the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. could be on the horizon.
"A fight versus Floyd could happen. I just have to school Pac this time to make it happen," Bradley claimed.
Sure, a Bradley-Mayweather showdown is a real possibility, but Bradley can't look past Pacman, as he will have to beat him convincingly this time around. The first fight's controversial split-decision (per ESPN) outcome left a bad taste in the mouths of boxing fans worldwide.
Bradley (29-0, 12 KOs) seems to know he will have to beat Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) in clear-cut fashion, as he told Boxing Scene, "F--k it, let's go to war for the viewers."
Since Bradley fractured his foot in the second round of his and Pacquiao's first bout back in June (per ESPN), a healthy Bradley has a good chance in beating Pacquiao fair and square if the rematch is what Pacman chooses as his fight for November 10.
With increased chatter that a Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown could take place in April of 2013 (per Boxing Scene), Bradley beating Pacquiao in a proposed rematch would change those plans and would more than likely open up Bradley's chance to land a Mayweather bout.
First, of course, we will have to wait with the rest of the boxing world as Pacquiao ponders his next move. With all the possible implications surround a possible rematch, Pacman's answer can't be announced soon enough.
