Floyd Mayweather's Next Fight Should Be Against Winner of Pacquiao vs. Marquez

Floyd Mayweather's next fight should be against the winner of the Dec. 8 showdown between boxing stars Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.

This is the fourth fight between Pacquiao and Marquez since 2004, and if PacMan wins, then Mayweather has to finally challenge his rival for the first time.

Pacquiao recently appeared on ESPN's popular morning program First Take to discuss a number of topics, including Mayweather.

Manny Pacquiao just said on ESPN's First Take that Floyd Mayweather is afraid of him.

Pacquiao told us on today's show he'll give Mayweather 55% of profit, take PED test just before/after fight. So what's holdup? FLOYD SCARED

Whenever one road block preventing a mega fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather is torn down, another one usually appears that delays the process.

Now that PacMan is willing to allow Mayweather to take more than half of the profit, and will accept drug testing, are there any more excuses for Mayweather to back down from this potential fight?

No, there are none left. This is why Money May must take on the winner of this Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight.

Even though there's a chance that Marquez could win, Pacquiao isn't going to lose because he knows that a victory could bring him closer than he's ever been before to a bout with Mayweather.

Mayweather hasn't fought since May, when he defeated Miguel Cotto in a unanimous decision. He's well-rested, and has had plenty of time to train for another major fight against an opponent such as Pacquiao or Marquez.

Regardless of who wins the Pacquiao vs. Marquez bout, the victor will be a worthy opponent for Mayweather. If Mayweather faces Marquez, it would be for the second time. Money May's 40th victory came against the Mexican in 2009.

Mayweather must fight either Pacquiao or Marquez some time in the first half of 2013 in his next fight, as he attempts to improve his stellar record to 44-0.
