Will Manny Pacquiao ever fight again?
That's the question many boxing fans are asking themselves after Pacquiao's next fight was moved for the third time, according to ESPN's Dan Rafael.
We still don't know who his opponent will be, but we sure can speculate.
One thing is for sure: it won't be Miguel Cotto, as Cotto inked a deal to fight junior middleweight titlist Austin Trout on Dec. 1 at Madison Square Garden.
Aside from Cotto, two other names were floating around as possible opponents for Pacquiao: Timothy Bradley Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao's last fight was against Bradley—June 9 at the MGM Grand—and he lost the welterweight belt in a fight that resulted in a controversial split-decision defeat.
While it would be good for the sport to see a rematch of Pacquiao vs. Bradley, it would be even better for boxing to see Marquez and Pacquiao go at it for the fourth time.
These two rivals have a long history, and a fourth fight between the two would be great publicity for both fighters.
In their most recent fight, Pacquiao defeated Marquez in a majority decision win in November, pushing his record to 2-0-1 against his rival Marquez.
Boxing fans have seen some classic matches between these two, and a fourth match would put the thought of a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight on the back burner.
So, when will we know the date and opponent of his Pacquiao's fight?
Pacquiao's adviser, Michael Koncz, reportedly told ESPN, "I've got nothing right now. Maybe we'll have something (Wednesday). Hopefully, by the end of the week."
Hang on, boxing fans. A decision should be coming by the end of the week.
