Amir Khan and His Brother Fight off Gang of Would-Be Carjackers
Oct 9th 2012, 11:00

Amir Khan and his brother Haroon Khan fought off a group of up to six men who tried to ambush the brothers in an effort to steal Amir's Range Rover early Monday morning in Birmingham, England according to the Daily Mail.

Amir and his 20-year-old brother Haroon—who recently turned pro himself in boxing—were blocked by the gang's 4x4 vehicle when the group came at the brothers.

Despite at least one of the attackers being armed with a cosh (a baton-like weapon) Amir and Haroon were able to fight off the attackers, picking them off one at a time.

An eyewitness to the brawl told the Daily Mail, "They parked their car in front of the Range Rover. At least one had a cosh. One slapped Amir and clipped him on the lip but Amir pulled back and knocked him out cold. Then the five of them went after Amir and Haroon but they stood their ground and these guys got dropped one by one."

The story was later confirmed by a police spokesmen who said they were called to the area for a fight, but no one approached them with any information on the incident.

Amir is a former junior welterweight title holder, losing his last bout to Danny Garcia this past July after being knocked out in Round 4 of their bout.

Khan is scheduled to face Carlos Molina in December and if he is as scrappy as he allegedly was in this brawl, his career could be back on track after being derailed by Garcia a few months prior.
