On Oct. 20, Kell Brook knocked out china-chinned Hector Saldivia with a jab in the third round to become the mandatory challenger for one of the alphabet welterweight titles. Hours after Brook (29-0, 19 KOs) won his title eliminator in front of a huge crown in his hometown of Sheffield, England, Devon Alexander (24-1, 13 KOs) easily outboxed Randall Bailey for a unanimous decision on the debut boxing card at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., to claim a 147-pound belt, thus inheriting Brook as his mandatory opponent.
