Manny Pacquiao Needs Dominant Win to Silence Critics After Bradley Bout

Manny Pacquiao needs to step into the ring and dominate Juan Manuel Marquez in Saturday night's fight.

Not only to get the win against a longtime rival, but after the debacle following Pacquiao's loss to Timothy Bradley this past summer, he needs it more than ever.

Redemption

It is no secret that the entire boxing world was outraged at what took place in Pacquiao's fight with Bradley. If it wasn't the most controversial finish in boxing, it was certainly close.

No, the next fight doesn't come against Bradley, as fans would have hoped, but winning in a convincing fashion against an opponent like Marquez would be the next-best thing.

Doing so would help to re-establish just why, if there was any doubt, Pacquiao should have never lost the belt in the first place.

Age

It seems that with every passing fight, Pacquiao is surrounded with speculation about whether it could, should or will be his last fight. Eventually, that time will indeed come, and it will no doubt be sooner rather than later.

The Pac-Man is a boxing legend. There was no way that he was going to call it quits after the Bradley fight, but after a win to somewhat redeem his stature, it becomes all the more possible.

Coming out and dominating a rival opponent, like Juan Manuel Marquez, from start to finish, would be the kind of fight that Pacquiao could be satisfied with if he indeed wanted to call it his last.

Conclusion

Considering the controversy surrounding the end result of his last bout, both he and likely most of the boxing world would love to see him come out in a big way this Saturday.

If it is indeed his last fight, a dominating win over a longtime rival would be a fitting end to a legendary career.
