Pacquiao vs. Marquez 4: JMM Clean in Pre- and Post-Fight Drug Tests
Dec 14th 2012, 17:53

Juan Manuel Marquez proved that hard work pays off in his spectacular knockout win over Manny Pacquiao on Dec. 8, and all the steroid rumors can now be put to rest after Marquez's negative drug test results.

Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the test results via his Twitter saying:

Nevada Athletic Commission's Keith Kizer said both Manny Pacquiao & Juan Manuel Marquez's pre- & post-fight drug tests came back negative.

After seeing a more muscular Marquez before his fourth showdown with Pacquiao, talk of steroids began before the fight even took place.

Marquez teaming up with strength and conditioning coach Victor Conte—who admitted to providing performance-enhancing drugs to several Olympian,s including Marion Jones and baseball slugger Barry Bonds, among other athletes (per ESPN.com)—didn't help those rumors from growing.

Then the knockout heard around the world took place and the talks of Marquez having an edge due to doping got even hotter, as he displayed one-punch knockout ability that he hadn't previously shown in recent fights.

Now that the tests are back and show that neither fighter had any kind of unfair edge, Marquez can finally bask in the glory of the biggest win of his 62-fight career and Pacquiao fans must now accept that their fighter was beaten fair and square.
