Amir Khan Proves He Is Most Entertaining Ticket in Boxing Apr 29th 2013, 03:53 Amir Khan is not the most talented boxer out there, and that is a big part of the reason he is the most entertaining.  This isn't to suggest that Khan does not have talent. He does, and he has the accomplishments to prove it. He is 28-3 and a former world champion.  Khan has wracked up these accomplishments because he is a talented puncher, but his defense leaves something to be desired.  Both of these qualities were on vivid display as he beat Julio Diaz with a unanimous decision, 114-113, 115-113, 115-112, on Saturday night.  Khan wasn't supposed to be in a battle this close with Diaz (40-8-1). And Khan's critics will point to this performance as yet another statement that Khan is not the elite fighter he was projected to be when he was climbing up the ranks.  And the fact of the matter is, those critics are right. I wouldn't bet on Khan in a fight against, say, Floyd Mayweather. But it is for that exact reason that help ensure his fights are going to be well worth your viewing time.  Khan's defense is full of holes. He's especially vulnerable to the left hook, and given the fact that he doesn't have a cast-iron chin, this can be problematic.  This reared its head in his victory on Saturday. Khan was cruising along. Then in the fourth round, Diaz connected with a big left that sent Khan to the mat.  He got up, and continued to battle. He was on the receiving end of numerous big blows after that, but he didn't let it throw him off his game plan.  What resulted was a highly entertaining and action-packed fight.  In fact, it was not all that different from his 2010 fight against Marcos Maidana that was widely viewed as the fight of the year.  And there is a good chance that won't be the last time Khan is involved in a bout that is worthy of "fight of the year" status.  Khan has the talent to win any fight he enters, but his defense also means he could lose any fight.
