Lil Wayne was on Floyd Mayweather hype-man duty Saturday night.
Right before the main event that would see Money May take on Robert Guerrero, Mayweather was escorted into the ring by the hip-hop star.
Here is a tweet via Bleacher Report:
Now, you didn't actually think Mayweather would walk to the ring like just any ol' boxer, did you?
Guerrero, a boxer who seemed to get a great deal of love from the Las Vegas contingent, walked to the ring with minimal celebration.
He was escorted by his team and local law enforcement who flanked his sides. It was pure business on the part of Guerrero's camp as they attempted to pull off a memorable upset.
As for Mayweather, it was the usual scene as he sauntered toward the ring: stoic looks with a great deal of pomp going off around him.
His main man certainly tried his best to get the crowd going, screaming lyrics into his microphone that were unfortunately (fortunately?) inaudible through the television feed.
Sports Illustrated's Bryan Armen Graham, however, does us a favor:
This is hardly the biggest news for the rap star, who was reportedly dropped as a spokesman for PepsiCo's Mountain Dew brand because of controversial lyrics in Future's "Karate Chop (Remix)," via MTV.
Despite the recent tumult and health scare he suffered back in March, the 30-year-old seemed engrossed in the task at hand: giving Mayweather an impassioned send-off.
