In our opening contest of the evening at 10 p.m. ET Saturday, the interim WBA lightweight championship will be on the line as undefeated Cuban sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa (22-0, 16 KO) takes on Colombia's Darley Perez (28-0, 19 KO). Gamboa successfully returned to the ring from a one year layoff last December, and hopes to make up for lost time against the undefeated but relatively unknown Perez. Then in our main event WBC and The Ring Magazine light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (31-2. 17 KO) defends his title against power punching former Emanuel Steward protege Adonis Stevenson (20-1, 17 KO). Dawson is hoping his return to the light heavyweight division is a successful one after he was dominated by Andre Ward in an attempt to move down and win a super middleweight title last September. Stevenson, on the other hand, is hoping to capture his first world title, but will be taking a massive step up in class.
