WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz retained his title Saturday night in Dresden, Germany, easily defeating Yuzo Kiyota via unanimous technical decision.
Scores were 100-89, 99-90, 99-90 for the champion.
From the outset it was clear that Stieglitz was the superior fighter. He used his jab effectively to setup his power punches, and he landed them at will against his outclassed opponent.
Kiyota wasn't able to do anything of significance offensively, and had a nasty cut opened over his left eye by an accidental head-butt.
On the advice of the doctor, the referee called a halt to the bout in the 10th round with Kiyota bleeding badly and clearly in no position to win the fight.
With the victory, Stieglitz improves to 45-3 with 26 knockouts.
