Junior welterweight prospect Frankie Gomez (15-0, 11 KOs), who is just 21, was scheduled to face former titleholder (and now division gatekeeper) DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley (39-20-1, 23 KOs) of Washington, D.C., on Saturday (FSN/Fox Deportes) at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif. However, Gomez suffered a deep bruise in his left knee and will be sidelined for a month, Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez told ESPN.com. "He can begin sparring right after that," said Gomez, who is not related to the fighter.
