Martinez had faced Macklin himself, last year in New York, and in that scrap the Macklin corner kept their man on his stool rather than send him out for Round 12. I reached out to Team Martinez and touched base with Nathan Lewkowicz, whose father Sampson Lewkowicz promotes Martinez, along with Lou DiBella.
