Both men are facing the toughest challenge of their respective careers, and this one promises to be an all-action war. Then, in our main event, Abner Mares (26-0-1, 14 KO) makes the first defense of his WBC Featherweight Championship as he takes on former champion Jhonny Gonzalez (54-8, 46 KO). Mares defeated Daniel Ponce de Leon to win the title this past May on the Mayweather vs. Guerrero undercard. It was an extremely impressive performance for a fighter moving up in weight and facing a powerful and tough opponent. Gonzalez is a multi-time world champion, but many consider him on the tail end of a career that featured many memorable wars and exciting fights.
