Talk about kicking a man when he's down.
Floyd Mayweather, who is fresh off another easy victory over his latest opponent, Saul "Canelo Alvarez, appeared to have posted a photo on Instagram mocking Oscar De La Hoya's addiction problems that have made their way into the news, according to TMZ.com.

De La Hoya recently checked himself into a rehab clinic just days before the Mayweather-Alvarez fight for what is presumed to be problems with drugs and alcohol, per Mitch Abramson of the New York Daily News.
Adding to his already rough week, De La Hoya picked Canelo to win the fight as the bout's promoter with his company, Golden Boy Promotions, setting up the fight.
Not only did he have his hands in making this match happen, but De La Hoya also claimed he had the blueprint to beat Mayweather after having success against him in 2007, which was part of the Instagram joke on Money's account.
To be fair, according to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, Mayweather has apologized for the insensitive photo by issuing a statement through his publicist:
It's unfortunate that a stupid picture was posted to my Instagram account earlier today that was not posted by me or authorized by me to post.
As I clearly stated during my fight week and again in the post-fight press conference, I completely support Oscar De La Hoya and his family during this difficult time in his life. Although we have had our differences in the past, I stand by him unconditionally and would never personally disrespect him or anyone who struggles with addiction.
I apologize to Oscar and his family for this posting. I wish him well and am rooting for him to win his fight too. I also apologize to all of my followers for this ridiculous post. I have no ill-will towards anyone and have repeatedly stated that I only seek positivity in my life and for others.
Too little, too late. The damage has already been done.
What's more troubling is that Mayweather fails to take responsibility for what's posted on his account by saying he never authorized it. It appears Money needs to keep a closer eye on his personal things.
While it's obvious that De La Hoya was wrong and couldn't help Canelo avoid the inevitable beatdown, that's no reason for someone to throw it in De La Hoya's face. Granted, a joke is one thing in regard to destroying De La Hoya over claiming he knew how to beat Mayweather, but to group that with his personal problems is downright wrong.
Shots like that should be well beneath Mayweather as a megastar in the sport of boxing and a man who is on top of the world right now after his 45th win. If it wasn't him who posted it, his handlers need to do a better job of representing him in every way possible.
