Mayweather vs. Canelo Weigh-In: Live Updates and Results from Pre-Fight Event
Sep 13th 2013, 20:57, by Kevin McRae

We are now just over 24 hours from Floyd Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez stepping through the ropes at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and already their bout is being dubbed as the fight—and event—of the year.

Today will be the final time that Mayweather and Canelo will meet before tomorrow's historic contest, and each man will have to weigh-in at 152-pounds, which is two pounds below the junior middleweight limit. The catchweight was negotiated as part of the contract for the bout, and speculation is rampant about who will benefit from it the most.

Mayweather is a small junior middleweight, and he's most comfortable competing a weight-division below at welterweight. Unlike Canelo, he actually has to put weight on, and not take it off, in order to compete at 154-pounds.

Canelo, on the other hand, is a full-fledged junior middleweight. Many have speculated in the past that he has the body type to compete at even higher weights, and he'll need to work harder than normal to drop the additional two pounds.

All that adds up to some serious drama for Friday's weigh-in. Join us here for live updates and results beginning at 6 p.m. ET/ 3 p.m PT.
