Mayweather vs. Canelo: Most Bizarre Moments from Saturday's Event
Sep 16th 2013, 10:30, by Tyler Brooke

There wasn't much that you would consider normal in the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night.

From the introductions to the post-fight press conference, there were plenty of odd moments. Granted, there was some really good boxing in between, but there were a number of times when I found myself scratching my head and thinking, "Did that really just happen?"

Let's take a look at the most truly bizarre events from the fight.

Justin Bieber and Lil' Wayne Walk Out with Mayweather

When I started writing about sports, I never thought that I would have to mention Justin Bieber.

It turns out that I was wrong.

As Mayweather walked to the ring, he was accompanied by both Bieber and Lil' Wayne. Don't believe me? Here's a video of it:

It appears that the two actually have a legitimate friendship. According to P. Schrager from FoxSports.com, Floyd had this two say about it:

I don't really get it, but who am I to judge? It seemed to work, considering that Mayweather walked away with his 45th career victory.

Speaking of that win...

C.J. Ross Scores Fight as a Draw

In one of the more odd scorecards since Timothy Bradley and Manny Pacquiao, C.J. Ross scored the fight as a draw by a score of 114-114. The other two judges had the fight scored 117-111 and 116-112.

Luke Thomas provided a picture of the official scorecard:

For those who feel like the name Ross sounds familiar, she was the same judge that had Bradley beating Pacquiao last year.

The reaction around the world was priceless. Mayweather looked stunned, and Twitter erupted in disagreement. Many celebrities tweeted out, including Desmond Howard:

It was certainly a controversial ruling, but a win is a win, and Floyd's undefeated career remains intact.

Money Claims to Have Dislocated Elbow

In the post-fight press conference, Mayweather claimed that he had dislocated his elbow.

In theory, the claim makes sense. During the seventh round, Mayweather was picking Canelo apart. He kicked if off with a nice uppercut, and then he continued to land big blows one after another and had Canelo completely stunned. He was unable to knock Alvarez down, however, and the fight continued.

There were some who weren't buying Money's claim. Vic Tafur from the San Francisco Chronicle mentioned that Mayweather claimed to be injured in his last fight against Robert Guerrero, crediting the injury for why he couldn't knock down his opponent:

With how easily Mayweather won, it does seem strange for him to claim to have been injured. Only time will tell if the injury was legitimate or not.
