Fans do not want to miss Floyd "Money" Mayweather (44-0, 26 KO) stepping into the ring with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO) on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the frenzy over the superfight has hit a fever pitch.
Hardcore and casual boxing fans alike want to witness the latest chapter in the legendary career of Mayweather. Add in the real possibility that Alvarez could be the one to dethrone the king of the sport, and this is going to be a must-watch event.

Mayweather’s Keys to Victory
Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest defensive fighters in the long history of boxing, and his style has the ability to frustrate his opponents. Money must enter his bout against Alvarez with the same defensive mentality.
Canelo is a fighter that loves to bring the action to his opponent. With Mayweather spending the first six to eight rounds dodging Alvarez’s offensive onslaught and using his counterpunching to start mounting damage, the later rounds of this fight are where Money will beat his inexperienced challenger.
As Canelo begins to wear down and his offensive attack slows, Mayweather will have the chance to begin landing decisive strikes and win each round. As Alvarez continues to withstand the beating, Mayweather will keep his defensive form while mounting his own attacks.
Using his defense and effective counterstriking will be Mayweather’s biggest key to another win.
Canelo’s Keys to Victory
There is no doubt that, despite having just two fewer victories than Mayweather, Saul Alvarez has the distinct disadvantage in experience. Canelo is wise beyond his years, though, and he will be ready for everything that Mayweather will throw with him Saturday.
Alvarez understands that Money will be using his defensive style to frustrate him, but with a game plan modeled after the wars brought to Mayweather via Miguel Cotto and others that took the undefeated star to his limit, Alvarez has a chance to steal the show.
The Mexican star must stick to the strategy laid out by his coach and not fall into Mayweather’s defensive trap. With focus unlike many of Money’s other challengers, Canelo's goal will be to frustrate and force the legend to abandon his defensive mindset.
If Alvarez losses the fight, it must be by trying to get Mayweather to buy into his game plan, not because Money frustrated him and forced the inexperienced challenger to abandon his strategy.
Official Prediction: Mayweather via Unanimous Decision
Both men will be looking to stick to their defensive game plans all night. While this strategy will lead to a boring fight with far less action than most had hoped, this will be the best chance both Mayweather and Alvarez have at winning.
Unless Canelo can knock out Mayweather or at least knock him down and win some decisive rounds, the judges will not award him a close decision.
Alvarez must win with a dominant performance, but just like in his 44 previous bouts, Money will walk away with the victory.
