In the main event, Scotland's own Ricky Burns will defend his lightweight title against WBO No. 6 ranked contender Raymundo Beltran. Burns (36-2, 11 KO) will be looking to erase the memory of his last performance with an impressive show against a hard-charging opponent. In his last bout, Burns was extremely fortunate to leave the arena with his title still around his waist. The unheralded Jose Gonzalez battered him for most of the fight, and he had a substantial lead on the cards when he was forced to retire in the ninth round with an injury. Beltran (28-6, 17 KO) is one of those fighters who you could dismiss by looking at his record. You do that at your own peril. The 32-year-old Mexican is extremely rugged, and tough enough to upset Burns if he isn't on his game.
