Mchunu signs with Main Events Oct 23rd 2013, 01:05, by Dan Rafael South African cruiserweight Thabiso Mchunu came to the United States as the opponent when Main Events matched him with heavily favored Eddie Chambers, the longtime heavyweight contender who had dropped down to cruiserweight. Then Mchunu -- nicknamed “The Rock” -- pulled the major upset, easily outpointing Chambers on Aug. 3. Main Events, which has since parted ways with Chambers, was so impressed that on Tuesday it announced it had signed the 25-year-old Mchunu (14-1, 10 KOs) to a promotional contract.
