Antonio "Relentless" Orozco (18-0, 14 KO) has world title aspirations. The next impediment set up to knock him off his path is veteran "El Anestesista" Miguel Angel Huerta (27-11-1, 18 KO). The two fighters will battle in a light welterweight clash that could push Orozco closer to the big fights he craves.
As part of a Golden Boy Live broadcast on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes, Orozco and Huerta will be one of the feature bouts on a card from the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif.
The main event is Cornelius "K9" Bundrage vs. Joey "Twinkle Fingers" Hernandez in an IBF super welterweight title eliminator bout.

The Book on Orozco
It's hard to find a fighter more set up to succeed than Orozco. He is backed by one of the biggest promotional companies in the sport in Golden Boy, and he has a solid manager in Frank Espinoza. He's undefeated and set to have a fairly important, nationally televised bout.
Per Felipe Leon of Fight News, Orozco is even the star of an upcoming reality series called Los Golden Boys. Leon explains the concept further:
One new opportunity for Orozco to become a household name is Los Golden Boys, a reality TV show that follows the lives of not only Orozco but WBC super-bantamweight champ Leo Santa Cruz and three-divisional champion Abner Mares in their everyday lives.
The only thing that could put him in a better position would be some affiliation with Al Haymon. Oh well, nobody is perfect.
Still, the power-punching 26-year-old from Tecate, Baja California, Mexico has a buzz about him. His strong amateur background and impressive finishing ability has those who are in the know excited.

While preparing for the bout with Huerta, Orozco said this to Boxing News 24:
"It’s been a really great camp. I’ve been training for eight weeks and I’m expecting a great fight next week. I know that Huerta has power, but I’m ready for the best."

"El Anestesista" is a grizzled 35-year-old veteran who has been in the ring with the likes of Mike Alvarado and Javier Jauregui. Unfortunately, he didn't beat either man.
He's an ideal gatekeeper for Orozco at this stage of his career. He hits hard, is experienced and most importantly for Orozco, he'll stand in front of the young contender and trade.
Huerta is there to test the mettle of Orozco, but not to extend him in a way that might highlight his weaknesses. In a perfect world for Orozco and his team, that's exactly how the fight will transpire.
Sometimes, things don't go as planned.
Prediction
Huerta obviously has the experience advantage having had twice the professional bouts Orozco has, and he's a southpaw. However, neither detail should be the prevailing factor in this fight.
Orozco doesn't possess a wealth of foot speed, but his punches are sudden and hard on the inside. Huerta doesn't have a length advantage and he's even slower than Orozco. "El Anestesista" is a decent puncher, but Orozco showed in his fight with Reynoso that he can take a good shot.
Moreover, he gained valuable experience against a southpaw.
Orozco will continue his march to bigger and better things at 140 pounds with a seventh-round TKO victory.
