Martirosyan starting over Jan 29th 2014, 20:23, by Dan Rafael Released by Top Rank earlier this month, not long after suffering his first career loss, junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan signed on Tuesday with promoter Dan Goossen. Martirosyan, 27, had been with Top Rank for his entire pro career since signing with Bob Arum’s company after representing the United States in the 2004 Olympics. But the relationship had simply run its course, especially after Martirosyan turned in disappointing performances in two of his last three fights: a ninth-round technical draw with Erislandy Lara in a November 2012 title eliminator, and a decision loss to Demetrius Andrade for a vacant world title in November 2013.
