Thompson, Solis to meet in March Jan 3rd 2014, 21:57, by Dan Rafael Heavyweights Tony Thompson and Odlanier Solis have both fought for a world title and come up short. Now they are going to fight each other in the hopes that a victory will move them a step closer to another shot. Promoter Ahmet Oner, who promotes Solis, announced Friday that he had a deal for the fight to take place on March 22 in Turkey, Oner’s home country. “All contracts are signed. The fight is on,” Oner said, adding that he plans to stage the bout in Kusadasi, Turkey.
