Jinkee Pacquiao: How Manny Pacquiao's Wife Has Pushed Boxer to Greatness
Dec 8th 2012, 01:05

Jinkee Pacquiao hasn't just helped her husband, Manny Pacquiao, become a great boxer—she's helped him become a better man.

Long gone is the old Manny Pacquiao; the man who drank alcohol, cheated on his wife and gambled his money, and his wife, Jinkee, has played a large role in the man Pacquiao has become.

Before his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez in November 2011, Manny and Jinkee were involved in an argument that had Pacquiao's wife thinking about divorce, according to Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole.

Jinkee wasn't even going to attend her husband's fight until he came down to her hotel room and they sorted things out.

It wasn't until his victory over the Dinamita that Pacquiao woke up:

Pacquiao has had what he calls 'a spiritual reawakening' and has embraced the Catholic faith. He's made changes in his personal life, saying he's given up extramarital affairs, gambling and cockfighting, among other vices, in order to make things better with his wife.

Since the pre-fight issues with his wife, Pac-Man and Jinkee have moved past Manny's infidelities and appear to have a stronger relationship than ever before.

According to GMA News, the couple took a second honeymoon in May 2012 and Jinkee even accompanied her husband to a training center in Los Angeles for the first time in the star boxer's career.

Those around the couple noticed the difference as well, as it's reported that, "Manny's trainers noticed that the Philippine champ was in a much better shape than before, having given up vices that caused him sleepless nights."

A piece written by Dan Rafael of ESPN notes that whereas Pacquiao would usually be out smoking, gambling and hanging out with random women, he now goes to Bible readings every day with his wife, who has been by his side through his transformation.

Jinkee could have left Pacquiao after he was unfaithful and started a new life, but she chose to stay with Pac-Man and help him in his rise to the top of the boxing world.

They say behind every good man is a great woman, and for this man, it's Jinkee Pacquiao.
