Pacquiao vs. Marquez 4 Odds: Most Intriguing Bets for Entire Fight Card
Dec 8th 2012, 01:33

After the official weigh-in on Friday, it's time to look at the most intriguing betting lines heading into Saturday's bout between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Both Pacquiao and Marquez have set an exciting tone for the fight, with each claiming he will go for the knockout at the MGM Grand.

After three back-and-forth clashes, each fighter is determined to once and for all end this rivalry.

Here's a look at the most intriguing odds before Saturday's fight.

Note: All betting lines via Bovada as of Dec. 7.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Will the Fight Go the Distance?

Given Pacquiao and Marquez have gone the distance in all three of their fights, it's only logical to project them to do it again. Odds are currently set at -210 for it to go the distance and +170 for it to end before the full 12 rounds.

What makes this fight interesting is that both fighters have said they are going to go for a knockout and, given Marquez's controversial loss to Pacquiao and Pacquiao's controversial loss to Timothy Bradley, each fighter has reason to say this.

In the fourth and final fight between the two, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends before the full 12 rounds.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Over/Under 8.5 Rounds

Both fighters are pumped up for this bout and both come into the fight heavier than they were in November 2011. Pacquiao has gained four pounds since the last matchup while Marquez has gained one pound after already ballooning to 142 pounds in November.

If both boxers are determined to end this bout quickly and definitively, there certainly is a possibility that it ends before the 1:30 mark in the ninth round.

Odds are set at -400 for the over and +250 for the under.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Method of Victory

Odds are set for Pacquiao to win the fight by either KO, TKO or disqualification at +225, while Marquez's odds are set at a whopping +850.

Given Marquez has been Pacquiao's greatest rival, coupled with the fact that both fighters are looking for the knockout, this isn't as far-fetched as it may seem.

Vazquez vs. Gesta: Over/Under 9.5 Rounds

Miguel Vazquez only has three losses on his record and those came against Timothy Bradley and Canelo Alvarez (twice).

Still, that doesn't mean Mercito Gesta can't make this a fight.

The 25-year-old Filipino arguably has more punching power than Vazquez and he's a confident, aggressive boxer. He hasn't faced the greatest competition, but don't forget Vazquez's forgettable performance against Marvin Quintero in October.

I don't see Gesta winning this fight, but taking it past the 1:30 mark in the 10th round isn't out of the question. Odds are set at -550 for the over and +325 for the under.

Gamboa vs. Farenas: Over/Under 5.5 Rounds

Yuriorkis Gamboa is a far superior fighter than Michael Farenas, but don't forget that the 30-year-old Cuban is coming off of a 15-month hiatus and that it took him until the eighth round to win against Daniel Ponce de Leon in his last fight (via an accidental headbutt that gashed De Leon).

Farenas has power and Gamboa's chin has been questioned throughout the years, including by Farenas' corner. Five-and-a-half rounds isn't the long for Farenas to hang in there.

Odds are set at -160 for the over and +115 for the under.
