Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez: "Money" Will Continue His Dominance
Sep 9th 2013, 11:30, by Kyle Newport

The big fight between Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is less than a week away, and Money will continue his dominance when the two square off at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Everyone has been waiting for Mayweather to get back in the ring since May, and it will be interesting to see how he handles his strong opponent.

It would be shocking to see Canelo come out on top. Mayweather is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and he is expected to continue his incredible run.

He is a perfect 44-0 in his career, and his opponent has put up similar numbers. Alvarez is 42-0-1 in his career, but this will be his biggest test to date.

Austin Trout pushed Canelo to the limit, and it didn't look like Alvarez was going to be able to rebound in time to give Mayweather a real challenge.

It's been more than six months since Alvarez has been in the ring. The 5'9" boxer has had time to make adjustments, but it's going to take a perfect performance to top the best fighter in the world.

Mayweather is known for being a defensive fighter. He is able to beat his opponents by moving aroundnot by knockout. Nobody can match Money when it comes to his ability to move his feet around and avoid punches.

The 36-year-old has only 26 knockouts in his career, and he'll have to continue to move around against Alvarez.

He'll have to use quick feet to avoid Alvarez's combination punches.

Canelo relies on his powerful punches to beat his opponents. The 23-year-old has 30 knockouts, so his ability to land big punches will be something keep an eye on. He's going to have to make every punch count rather than hope to land a ton of them on Mayweather.

The two fighters have completely different styles, and it will be up to each fighter to establish his dominance.

Unfortunately for Alvarez, Mayweather is the best at what he does. He doesn't change his style if an opponent pressures him. The 5'8" fighter uses great footwork to move around, but he doesn't turn into a pure defensive fighter. He still has power behind his punches and knock his opponents back with attacks from different angles.

Money has the pressure on him to continue his dominance. Canelo is a rising star in boxing who will be a force in the future, but the timing isn't right for him. His opponent is at the top of his game and will be the favorite.

Mayweather's defensive fighting will frustrate Canelo, and the best fighter will still have an unblemished record at the end of the night.
