Floyd Mayweather may be walking out of the MGM Grand with $41.5 million in hand, but fans can win money as well by playing their hands correctly.
The bout between "Money" Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will have the world watching on as the fight of the decade occurs, but the savvy fans will also know how to parlay history with current factors to make some coin.
Here are the safest plays to make for "The One."

Fight goes the distance (-285)
Too easy.
Mayweather employs a defensive style built to go the distance. He's never lost—a big part of that is a counter-based attack that leaves opponents whiffing at air and only connecting on 17 percent of total punches.
Canelo has 30 career knockouts to his name and does the exact opposite of Mayweather by going for broke in the early rounds and looking for a knockout.
That's why this is a good bet. Canelo is inexperienced, and try as he may, connecting on the elusive chin of Mayweather for a knockout simply isn't going to happen. Canelo has a size and age advantage, but he's slower and has yet to face an opponent of Mayweather's caliber.
From a historical perspective, Mayweather has gone the distance in seven of his last nine bouts. He's only tallied 26 knockouts overall, so this one going the distance in typical Mayweather fashion is more than likely.
With a style specifically suited for dragging out fights as he adjusts and wins the decision, banking on Mayweather to take this one the distance is a smooth move.
Mayweather Wins (-280)
Mayweather's the favorite for a reason.
Ignore all of the trash talk and superfluous things that come with a Money Mayweather fight—he's one of the greatest of all time. Canelo is no slouch, but he's a youngster and the latest in a long line of fighters thinking they bring something new to the table against Mayweather.
One way or another, Mayweather is going to come out on top. Plenty have entered the ring and attempted to solve the riddle that is his defensive style, but none have managed to leave the ring victorious over Mayweather.
Alvarez is at a disadvantage in more ways than one. He's only fought in Las Vegas twice, has to deal with an unfavorable catchweight under his typical fighting weight and is slower than the legend awaiting him in the ring.
It's hard to win a lot of money on this bet, but it's the safest of all.
