Judge C.J. Ross has captured the early headlines by ruling the bout between Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez a draw, but her decision doesn't overshadow the fight.

Alvarez was able to land only 22 percent of his punches, and he landed more than 36 percent of his power punches in only one round.
Meanwhile, Mayweather took advantage of his opponent. From the fifth round to the 11th, he landed over 50 percent of his power punches. He just continued to wear down his opponent and worked his way to an easy victory.
Canelo entered the fight at 42-0-1, but he hadn't gone up against an opponent like Mayweather before. He was overmatched in the ring, especially in the later rounds.
Money upped his record to 45-0, and fans will just see this as another victory. The best pound-for-pound fighter in the world has defeated Robert Guerrero, Oscar De La Hoya and others along the way to a perfect record. This should just be another name on that list.
It may not have been a unanimous decision, but everyone knows who won that fight. There is no debating the final outcome. Mayweather kept his title and looks unbeatable. Nobody has come up with a game plan to beat him, so there's a very good chance that he will retire undefeated.
When his storied career is finally over, nobody will be talking about the judges. Boxing fans will remember this fight as one of the many dominant performances that Mayweather has had since debuting in 1996.
As shocking as Ross' decision was, it won't overshadow Money's victory. Mayweather has established his dominance in the ring, and fans will remember this as just another typical fight for the champion.
