Tyson Fury Rules Out Dereck Chisora Rematch, Tweets Christmas Wish List Dec 5th 2013, 14:06, by Nick Akerman Tyson Fury will not face Dereck Chisora in a rematch of their 2011 bout after the boxer's camp suggested they are looking beyond British opponents, confirmed by Fury tweeting a list of opponents he wishes to face. The giant's uncle and trainer, Peter, discussed an ambitious outlook for the 25-year-old's future, as reported by Kevin Francis of the Daily Star: We’re not going to fight Chisora because we are now looking beyond domestic level. We have a lot of heavyweights to choose from because everyone wants to fight Tyson Fury. We are just taking stock right now. Tyson will be back in training in January and we are looking at possible opponents. Fury was due to battle David Haye in a much-anticipated clash of Britain's best, but Haye's decision to pull out of the fight on two separate occasions had Fury claiming he is "one million per cent retired from boxing," as noted by Jamie Sanderson of Metro. Now "coming out of retirement," Fury recently tweeted the opponents he would like to face in 2014: Originally scheduled to face The Hayemaker on Feb. 8, 2014, Fury is looking to secure a new opponent for March. A rematch against Chisora would arguably represent a step back for Fury's progress, after he defeated his aggressive rival via unanimous decision just over two years ago, per Nabil Hassan of BBC Sport. Fury has overcome Nicolai Firtha, Neven Pajkic, Martin Rogan, Vinny Maddalone, Kevin Johnson and Steve Cunningham since the Chisora win, extending his unbeaten professional record to 21-0. Problems with the Haye fight have kept Fury out of the ring since April 2013, and despite Chisora's recent victory over Ondrej Pala, he is looking to extend his brand on a global scale. As noted in Francis' report, the man from Manchester "will be back in training in January," per his trainer. Fury has only fought outside Britain and Ireland twice—his 2010 victory over Zack Page at Canada's Pepsi Coliseum followed by the recent triumph over Cunningham in New York—ensuring he will need to make an instant impact if he is destined to push for world titles.
