Manny Pacquiao: Superstar Boxer Will End All Controversy with KO of Marquez
Sep 18th 2012, 14:27

Look out Juan Manuel Marquez.

Manny Pacquiao is on a mission to knock out anyone in his path after suffering a disappointing and controversial defeat at the hands of Timothy Bradley Jr. last June.

In addition to having plenty to prove to the world, Pacquiao is out to establish dominance in his rivalry with Marquez. The two have fought three times in the past, with all three bouts ending controversially.

Their first meeting resulted in a draw in 2004, and Pacquiao has won the last two fights via split and majority decisions.

Here is Pacquiao on his desire to end the debate once and for all this December (via ESPN.com):

I want to erase the doubt of the last three fights. There's so many people still asking if I won the fights. I think to myself, 'Something is wrong. I have to do it again.' This time, I will train hard to put this fight up in the history of boxing. I want to make this fight short. I want to knock him out.

If Pac-Man was coming off a win over Bradley on June 9 then I would put little stock into his words leading up to Pacquiao vs. Marquez IV. But based on the mind-blowing circumstances surrounding Pacquiao's most recent loss, one has to believe he will be fighting with an edge not seen from him in years.

With Marquez nearing his 40s and Pacquiao boasting 38 career knockouts, I can only picture one way for this epic boxing rivalry to conclude on December 8. After all, there can't be a Pacquiao vs. Marquez V, can there?

The two fighters are worthy adversaries—that's for sure. Marquez is no slouch and should be respected and praised for his superb performances against Pacquiao over the last eight years.

Despite his strong efforts though, Marquez has come up short each time. And now, he will have to face Pacquiao for the first time ever after a loss. This December bout will signal the perfect storm for Manny Pacquiao and a nightmare scenario for Juan Manuel Marquez.

Pac-Man will rebound from his controversial loss to Bradley and establish superiority in his rivalry with Marquez. In one knockout win, Pacquiao will go from bitter to jubilant.
