Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: 3 Reasons to Skip Overhyped Fight
Dec 5th 2012, 14:00

It's deja vu all over again as Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez are set to fight for the fourth time on Dec. 8 in  Las Vegas, Nevada.

While the two have put on an entertaining set of fights, I think we've all got a pretty good feel for how this one will play out, because we've seen it so many times before.

There is no reason to dish out coin to watch this fight. Here are three reasons why.

It's the 4th fight

As was mentioned in the opening, this is the fourth time these two have fought, and the last time was less than 13 months ago.

Pacquiao is going to use his hard-charging style to try to wear down and beat up Marquez, while JMM will use his counterpunching prowess to try to avoid those charges and inflict some damage.

Both will have success, but not enough that there will be a knockout. These two simply don't get knocked out, and we've seen it enough to know that neither has a significant edge in this matchup of styles.

Bogus Decision

If you've watched Manny Pacquiao's last two fights—against Marquez and Timothy Bradley—you know he is suffering through a rash of controversial decisions.

Many felt Marquez was the rightful winner of their last fight, and even more felt that Pacquiao got hosed by the judges against Bradley.

This is a disturbing trend, and it goes in concert with the fact that every time these guys meet, there seems to be controversy surrounding the decision. Their first two fights both ended in controversial, split decisions.

I don't know about you, but I am completely tired of controversial or downright bogus decisions, and if there is a smart bet in this fight, it is that the decision will fall under the spotlight. I'd like to skip that.

Let Boxing World Know Fans Want More

So these guys will be fighting for the fourth time. You know which two fighters have yet to fight each other? Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

While the two stand in line for record paydays if they fought each other, they are doing just fine without fighting each other.

That would change if Mayweather and Pacquiao stopped getting big pay-per-view buys for their fights against other fighters.

Fans can essentially demand these two fight by refusing to care if they fight anyone else.
