Pacquiao vs. Marquez Predictions: Dinamita Will Dominate Pac-Man Early
Dec 6th 2012, 12:00

Juan Manuel Marquez can't be happy about how the previous fights versus Manny Pacquiao ended, and he will use that attitude to jump all over Pac-Man on December 8.

Dinamita knows that he needs to get to Pacquiao early. Otherwise, he will face an uphill battle as Pacquiao builds momentum through his aggressive fighting mentality.

The Telegraph reporter Gareth A. Davies notes the scorecard from the last time these two met. If you can make out the small print, you'll see that two of the three judges gave Pacquiao the first three rounds 10-9.

Marquez stole a few middle rounds, but those early frames could have swayed the judges' final decision. First impressions can be the most important.

Avoiding a slow start is important. Because Marquez is one of the smartest fighters that boxing has seen in quite awhile, he will use that to his advantage. Pacquiao won't be ready for it; instead, waiting for Marquez to slowly wear him down.

A lot of this will also be because of Pacquiao's approach.

Pacquiao is notorious for his high-energy approach. He's also entering this bout with a slighted feeling, after dropping a controversial decision to Timothy Bradley in his last time in the ring.

Pac-Man will fight like he has something to prove. He will throw punch after punch, trying to push Marquez backward and create a favorable advantage in the opening rounds, but that plays right into Dinamita's hands.

Marquez's best chance of hurting Pacquiao will come through his counter punches. Pacquiao's straight-forward, attacking mentality will open him up for punishment early, and Marquez will be prepared because of his experience versus Pac-Man's power.

This fight is still going to be close, but Marquez will force Pacquiao to come back if he wants to win by dominating the early rounds.

He wants to prove that he can beat Pacquiao on the scorecards and not just in the eyes of many spectators. That force will drive him early on and will earn him an early lead in the judges' eyes.
